Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop started a new series of covers while in isolation and in his latest release he covers Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black”, which can be heard below.
According to Worsnop:
“I wanted to take some time to pay homage to some of the songs and artists that I love and who inspire me, and Amy Winehouse does so in spades. The soul and transparency in her music was always something I was drawn to, and it was a wonderful day spent in her shoes remaking and reimagining one of her greatest works with my own twist.
Amy, you were a true artist in the purest sense of the word. We were touched by your passion and your uniqueness. Your music forever hold a place in our hearts.”
In March, Worsnop released a new solo single “Happy”. He said:
“‘Happy’ is a song I wrote about my never being content or satisfied. My constant need to do more and be better. The want to be able to slow down but the awareness that I never will.”
Asking Alexandria will release their new album, Like A House On Fire on May 15 with Sumerian Records. Guitarist Ben Bruce said the distribution company wanted to postpone the upcoming album because no physical product woud be available due to the coronavirus outbreak, but the band insisted on keeping the original release date.
The band released Antisocialist in March and debuted “Down To Hell” in April
