Gourdness, Gracious – it’s pumpkin time in the Caramel Crisp Bookstore! On Saturday, October 21 (10 am to 2 pm), meet local author Jean Huxtable-Hamersky. Jan will be there with her brand new children’s book, Parker’s Pumpkin. This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a boy, his grandmother, and a tiny seed that grows and grows. Parker’s Pumpkin teaches children about nature, community and the bonds of family.
Jean will welcome a special guest to her Author Spotlight – master pumpkin carver Jim Booras! Jim can turn a humble pumpkin into a true work of art. Bring the whole family to watch as Jim works his magic! A limited number of Jim’s creations will be available for purchase. If you have a particular design in mind, he may even be able to create it for you on the spot!
