Speaking exclusively to Loudwire after the full line-up for the festival Louder Than Life was announced, Staind singer Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok say they’re open to more than just the one full concert at a festival. The rumors of this reunion started after Aaron Lewis made some off the wall comments about the possibility last month at one of his solo shows.
“I was teasing the crowd and all of a sudden, the next day, we were [reported to be] coming back. Which, you know, might have been true. But that’s not what I said.”
In the video (which you can watch below), Lewis said:
“So what if I told you that Staind is coming back next year? I might be lying, but I might not. There might even be live shows this year. I can’t say for sure. You never know.”
He then added:
“there might even be live shows this year.”
Staind took to Facebook on Monday to announce their performance at the Festival.
When asked by Loudwire is the band planned on releasing new music or playing more shows, only said “time will tell,” while Mushok was much more open and hopeful about the idea and the future of Staind.
“That would be kind of the next step. Right now, it’s just one step at a time. I’d love for that to happen, and I’m very proud of the stuff that we’ve done, and I love writing with Aaron. It’s just such a different day. I’m happy that we’re even able to go out and play.”
