1996 was an interesting year. ER was in its 3rd season and the number one show on television, Tickle Me Elmo was introduced to hoards of screaming children, and this week in 1996, Collective Soul topped the rock charts with “The World I Know.”
Originally released on their 1995 self titled debut album, the song peaked at number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and spent four weeks at the number-one spot on the Billboard Rock Charts.
