Bring Me The Horizon heard you wanted something heavy, so they rerecorded their debut album Count Your Blessings. And just in case you forgot what they sounded like at that time, check out this song.
That is a rerecorded version of the 2006 album and holy s-word it’s heavy. Lead singer Oli Sykes said this about the album.
“I think a lot of people think that we hate that record or are embarrassed by it because we don’t play it. Really, we were just always disappointed with how it sounded. It was never about rewriting history. It was about making the record we’d always heard in our heads.”
Having grown up in that era of BMTH it truly is a delectable treat to have it rerecorded and for it to sound as good as it does. The process of rerecording was pretty crazy with Oli even having to relearn how he did certain sounds with his voice. The work must have inspired something because just a few weeks before this release BMTH gave us ‘Dehumanized’ a new track written and recorded during these sessions that is both a tribute to the past as well as a catalyst to the future.
Heavy is back in a big, big way. Bring Me The Horizon is on tour in North America with their closest stop being in Grand Rapids Michigan on October 8th.
