After years and years of speculation and delays 2026 will be the year the 2008 album Slipknot did that has a quote Radiohead feel is coming out. The band made a statement about the album saying this, perhaps warning you like this.
“Created during a chaotic time in our shared history, the songs were born late at night, in a house on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Peering out through a big picture window, we wondered about what, or who, might be lurking outside. That sense of the unknown seeped into the music itself. There were no rules; ideas could come from anywhere: subtle drum loops, bits of organ or abstract guitar noise, even samples of frogs or crickets. Guided by emotion and instinct, we let the sounds themselves point the way.”
Shawn Crahan aka Clown said this about the vibe of the album specifically Corey Taylor’s singing.
“you’ll never hear Corey Taylor sing like this on his solo albums… It was a very emotional time, and all those emotions went into creating that album,” he’d said in 2024, “But it’s a beautiful thing, a serious thing, and I stand by saying that it will be worth the wait.”
