Every great journey needs an equally great soundtrack. Climbing a 101 story skyscraper with no safety gear definitely calls for a epic soundtrack. Alex Honnold went to Taipei and made this historic climb and listened to Tool the entire way up!
It was mostly Tool. It’s a random playlist that I made, that I shared with production. I made it months ago while I was driving. I’ve been training to it a bunch. Basically, rock music that I’ve liked my whole life.”
Why Tool? he says it helps him with pacing, which is pretty important if you’re going to be over 1,000 feet above the ground and only have your hands to keep you from plummeting to a very messy death. Which would have been a fairly metal way to go tbh.
