TOWN OF ALTO, WI — Fire destroys an equipment shed in Fond du Lac County.
Crews were called to the pole building along Lake Maria Road in the town of Alto around 6:50 AM Friday to find the building in flames. Sheriff’s officials say an employee had plugged an extension cord into a block engine block heater on a tractor when the vehicle burst into flames.
No one was hurt.
Investigators believe the cause of the fire is electrical in nature.
