They teased and now they have delivered. ‘Dying To Love’ has dropped and Noah and the rest of the band give us another stunner of a track.
It has been nearly four years since Bad Omens have released a full album but they have been working on it for a while. Back in ’23 I spoke with Jolly at Aftershock Festival about the creative process of the band. He had a lot of fun things to say but one that sticks out is this.
‘You keep trying…stay creative as in keep trying to write even though nothing comes out, it’s like kicking a ball. …eventually you get flawless at it…it’s the same way when you start thinking about music, or like writing music, essentially music is in the air all the time you just gotta connect to those things and hope that calls to you, the more you think about it the easier it will become…you just let the fricken universe write it through you rather than you sit there…like when you think of a thought (it didn’t) originate from you it originating from elsewhere…it’s radio waves…’
Their 2022 release The Death Of Peace Of Mind has widely been regarded as one of the milestone records in the genre was written and perfected during the pandemic. Jolly said that the time off the road and the quietness of the world benefited the creative process. He said that they would do what they can to take a similar approach in the next one and as the roll out for this record has started it appears that they have. Bad Omens will be in Europe for the rest of the year and we wait anxiously for what ’26 will bring.
