GREEN BAY, Wis. — A Nekoosa man accused of killing a driver along Highway 172 in Ashwaubenon is competent to stand trial.
Doctors believe Ji-Gwe-Mko Layton is able to assist in his own defense on one count of first-degree intentional homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Layton shot the 60-year-old Wood County man driving their car along 172 back in August, causing a crash.
His defense is calling for another round of psychological testing.
If convicted, Layton would face life in prison.
