GREEN LAKE, Wis. — The Watertown man charged with faking his own death on Green Lake will spend nearly three months in jail.
Ryan Borgwardt is sentenced Tuesday afternoon on a charge of obstructing an officer.
That’s in connection with faking his own drowning in order to flee to Europe to be with another woman before returning home last December.
Prior to sentencing, Green Lake County District Attorney Gerise Laspisa says Borgrwardt needs to be held accountable………
Borgwardt expressed remorse to the community and his family for his actions and the harm they caused……..
Borgwardt has already paid $30,000 in restitution to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office for search and rescue efforts.
