Riot Fest is a long-standing tradition in Chicago but this year will take a different approach. This year the festivities will be in Seat Geek Stadium, the former home of the Chicago Fire soccer team. The headliners for this year are also quite odd, but very cool! Fall Out Boy, beck, and the almighty SLAYER will close out the three nights in September.
Other notable bands will be Manchester Orchestra, NOFX (who will be playing all three days as a way to say goodbye), Rob Zombie, The Offspring, and murderers of your friend and me, GWAR! The September 20-22 festival is described as a ‘choose your own adventure’ festival with specific sections with themes. For example, the Kevin Smith Section will have a real-life convenience store from Clerks, a NOFX section paying tribute to the highly influential punk band, and many other adventures.
