APPLETON, Wis–The trial of a Grand Chute Town Board Supervisor accused of benefiting from a municipal project is delayed indefinitely. The defense for Ron Wolff has filed an interlocutory appeal, asking the state Court of Appeals to consider a ruling that denied an “affirmative defense”.
Wolff’s attorney has argued that his client was acting on the advice of town officials when he submitted a bid to clear weeds from the new pond at the Champions Center through his company, Lakeshore Cleaners, after he was elected to the board in 2021. Wolff’s trial was scheduled to start next week.
There is no timetable for the Appeals Court to issue a ruling.
