The witches are back.
Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2, the long awaited sequel to the original 1993 Halloween classic. The new trailer includes a bunch of new characters as well as some callbacks to the original motion picture, including a brief appearance by the Sanderson Sisters played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.
Towards the end of the trailer, we hear Winifred Sanderson (Midler) scream, “Lock up your children! “Yes, Salem, we’re back!” amidst a loud crash of thunder. Shortly thereafter we see a local man ask the Sanderson Sisters if they are looking for the stage, referencing their memorable performance of “I Put A Spell On You” from the 1993 original picture. With a sinister look in her eye, Winifred simply replies, “Always.”
Hocus Pocus 2 will be released on September 30th of this year streaming on Disney+.
