Shinedown continues to showcase their versatility when it comes to songwriting, and musicality.
Fresh off of their chart-topping single “Planet Zero,” as well as their thought-provoking society-questioning track “The Saints Of Violence and Innuendo,” Shinedown has completely shifted gears with their newest single “Daylight.” All three tracks will be featured on Shinedown’s upcoming album Planet Zero which is due out on July 1st.
“Daylight” features frontman Brent Smith’s powerful vocals over nothing more than a piano and an orchestra. The thunderous instrumental along with Smith’s passionate singing amidst a chorus of beautiful voices is enough to send chills down one’s spine.
The lyrical nature of the song deals with seeing light within dark times thanks to support from those who are held close. Darkness reveals who sticks around for the long run through the tough times, and who packs up and leaves at the first sight of vulnerability unwilling to be there for support. When it seems as though all is lost and darkness has consumed, those who stick around make sure that light is found.

Shinedown fans in Green Bay who happened to be at the Resch Center on April 8th of this year were treated to the new track before it was released. Shinedown brought the lights up, and requested the packed Resch Center crowd to do the same in a stunning display.
