A home on Appleton’s south side has $130,000 in damage after a fire Wednesday around 12:15 p.m.
Crews were called to the 2600 block of South Kernan Avenue and found smoke coming from the roof line and windows of a house. Firefighters were able to quickly put out a fire in the kitchen. They also rescued a dog. No one was home at the time and two adults, two children and a dog were displaced.
Officials say the fire started when something on top of a glass top stove caught fire.
