Ghost have been very busy on tour with Volbeat all while preparing to release a new album entitled Impera which is due March 11th. Now 9 days before that release they give us this new blistering track called ‘Twenties’.
I spoke with Tobias Forge earlier this year about the creation of the new album and when the writing had begun. He said this.
“I like having a head start…I want to know in a current album cycle that I’m starting to see the skeleton of the new album sort of coming to life.”
Forge told me during the interview that Impera is about a man walking through the apocalypse but instead of feeling the peril of the world crumbling around him, he feels joy and a sense of self. You’ll definitely hear that type of tone in ‘Twenties’ especially with the soaring guitar solo coming out of what sounds like a car crash.
