Sturgeon may be hard to spot on Lake Winnebago when spearing season opens in just over a week. The D-N-R says the average water clarity is just less than 11-feet on the big lake. Twelve feet is considered “good” clarity. Visibility on the north end of the lake is reportedly better than on the southern half. The sturgeon spearing season opens on Saturday, February 12th.
