The US Venture Open makes a major change to this month’s event.
The dinner and reception planned at Van Abel’s of Hollandtown has been canceled and special guest Charlize Theron will not be in attendance.
Organizers say the cancellation of the indoor event is due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the region.
“While we understand and share in your disappointment that dinner will not proceed as planned, U.S. Venture has consistently followed CDC guidance in order to protect the health and well-being of our customers, team members, and community partners throughout the pandemic. We appreciate your ongoing support of the Open and its mission to end poverty across Northeastern Wisconsin,” reads a statement from the US Venture Open.
As of now, the welcome reception and golf tournament are still on for August 11th.
