We had to dig way to far back in the charts to find the last time an African American rock artist at the number one rock song. This week that changed. Seattle born guitarist, a guy who grew up hard and in the same neighborhood as Jimi Hendrix has changed the rock landscape. His name is Ayron Jones and his second single “Mercy” is the number one rock song in the country. You can find the song on his debut album Child of the State which is out now.
Three new rock albums were released this week that deserve your attention. Bummer by Cleopatrick, Nowhere Generation by Rise Against, and Baptize by Atreyu. Lead singer of Atreyu Brandon Saller joined us on the show and as always for a conversation on Cutter’s Rockcast.
