The pandemic is forcing firefighters to change the way they reach out to kids during Fire Prevention Week.
Lt. Shauna Walesh of the Green Bay Metro department is meeting with students virtually. She’s talking with them, and showing them videos on things like how to “stop, drop, and roll.”
The department is putting a bigger focus on cooking fires this year, because people are at home more and children might be helping around the kitchen. So far this year, there have been about 60 cooking fires in Green Bay.
