The state Department of Corrections is reporting a coronavirus outbreak in the Oshkosh prison.
Officials say there are more than 300 active cases among inmates. The prison is the state’s largest, with nearly 2,000 inmates, and many are older.
The surge in cases comes at the same time there are 437 active cases at the Kettle Moraine prison. That’s the largest outbreak in a state prison, so far.
As of yesterday, more than 900 inmates and 150 staff had active cases of COVID-19, across all of the department’s facilities.
