About 111,000 people in the state still haven’t received their federal stimulus payment from the spring.
The IRS is sending letters to their last known address. Individuals can get $1,200.
Agency spokesman Christopher Miller says the people didn’t make enough to file taxes in the past two years, or they’ve become homeless. He reports over the summer, they reached out to agencies that help under-served groups.
Miller says people can send in a non-filer form by October 15th, or register with the IRS online. If they miss the deadline, they can try to get the money next year. The letters are going to the last address on file.
