Ten times as many people in Wisconsin are voting absentee so this fall, compared to the presidential election in 2016.
State Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe says requests for ballots are soaring. She says local clerks have received requests for about 1.2 million ballots so far, and that’s 10 times as many as four years ago. Around 400,000 have already been returned.
Wolfe says since the beginning of the year, 276,000 people have registered to vote. She points out that total can include address and name changes.
