The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals has jumped recently, but staffing levels can also be an issue.
ThedaCare President, Dr. Imran Andrabi says about 250 workers were out yesterday. He says they either caught the virus while out in the community, or have to quarantine because another person did.
Andrabi says they still need to have enough staff to be there for people having a heart attack, stroke, or other health problem. He says it’s also important for preventative medicine, so women can get mammograms, and children can get vaccinations.
Governor Evers and the state Department of Health Services issued an emergency order yesterday, so out-of-state health care workers can come to Wisconsin to help.
