With hospitals in the Fox Valley region nearing capacity, ThedaCare’s leader says he’s “sounding a three-alarm fire.”
And Dr. Imran Andrabi says if the community doesn’t work together, it’s going to be a five-alarm fire in a few weeks. He says everyone has the ability to flatten the curve. He points out they’ve done it before, and they can do it again.
Andrabi is urging everyone to take the same preventative steps that have been in place, including wearing masks and social distancing.
ThedaCare started transferring patients to other hospitals yesterday, because of space issues.
Andrabi also says the pandemic is having a big impact on staffing levels. He says more than 250 workers were out yesterday, after they caught the virus, or were exposed and need to quarantine.
