There are 2,504 new confirmed coronavirus cases in Wisconsin, and that’s the second-most in a single day.
The record was set last Friday, and that total was 29 more. Yesterday’s 2,392 cases had been the second-most.
The state is reporting 16.6 percent of tests came back positive. The seven-day average is 16.5 percent.
There are now 17,170 active cases, and that’s about 850 more than yesterday. The total is 81 percent higher than 14 days ago, and up 132 percent over the past month. There were 7,385 active cases on August 25th.
Hospitals are treating a record 530 COVID-19 patients, including 65 new ones. Another 208 patients are waiting for test results.
Nine more people died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 1,274.
Brown County has 278 new cases, Winnebago 210, Outagamie 110, and Fond du Lac 61.
Shawano added 44, Manitowoc 35, Oconto 29, Calumet 28, and Kewaunee 27.
Waupaca has 24 more, Waushara 16, and Green Lake 13.
