People in Wisconsin calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline have a better change of talking with a counselor from the state.

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin is running it.
The group’s Shelly Missall says there were times people would be transferred to someone in places like California or Arizona. She says having someone in Wisconsin on the other line can help connect people to the services they need in their area.
A $2 million annual grant is helping pay for the call center.
