In July, Diamante released a cover of The Goo Goo Dolls 1998 hit “Iris” featuring Breaking Benjamin frontman Ben Burnley. Now she has released the music video for the song that uses footage from the recording process, shot by Alyson Coletta. The video starts with a short message saying:
“On February 28, 2020, 2 weeks before the entire world shut down… I was set to get on a plane to Reno, Nevada to meet up with Ben on tour and record my all-time favorite song since childhood: “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. I missed my first flight, and almost didn’t make it to Reno to record, but I somehow managed to get on the next flight out to make it just in time!
Little did I know that the Breaking Benjamin show would be the last live concert I would attend before the covid-19 pandemic. On behalf of Ben & myself, we send our thoughts and prayers to all of the families around the world dealing with this new normal and realizing it is anything but normal”
