Sevendust announced that they will live stream a virtual concert on October 23rd in Orlando to celebrate the release of their 13th studio album Blood & Stone, which comes out on the same day. The event starts at 8pm CT and can be viewed at sevendust.com.
In June, Sevendust released their cover of Soundgarden’s “The Day I Tried To Live” which will be on the upcoming album. The lyric video for the song can be seen below.
Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon said that Soundgarden has always been important to the members of Sevendust and their love of them goes back to the when they started:
“We discussed trying to do one of their songs and our producer Elvis suggested ‘The Day I Tried To Live’. I would have been fine with any of those songs personally.
When I first heard it, I thought the lyrics were timeless. The lyrics are about trying to experience new things and change the way you live, and we see examples of that every day with what is happening around the world. To have the chance to cover this song and release it is so special to all of us. Thank you, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden.”
Lead guitarist Clint Lowery said that he believes this is one of their strongest records that they have released in a while. He added that the band just wants to be genuine and he understands that not everyone is gonna like it. Lowery describes Sevendust as an aggressive band that has their own thing, and that they stay true to that. They just try to do what they do best.
