In Flames re-recorded several tracks from their album Clayman to celebrate its 20th anniversary. They just released four of the re-recorded tracks that will also appear on the upcoming 20th anniversary edition of the Clayman, which comes out on August 28th.
The four newly recorded songs are “Only For The Weak“, “Bullet Ride“, “Pinball Map” and “Clayman“. A new instrumental song called “Themes And Variations In D-Minor” will also be on the album. All the songs can be heard below. A limited edition Comic-Con 12″ pressing of the EP will be available as well, and can be pre-ordered here.
In a recent interview, which can be viewed below, guitarist Björn Gelotte said they decided to just re-record the songs that they would normally play live:
“It was a matter of us picking a few, and then we just added and added, and it turned out to be, I think, four in the end, plus a little professional medley played by a real musician.
We didn’t wanna re-record the whole thing. I mean, it is what it is, especially at the time, and I think it sounds good the way it does.”
