It was just over a year ago that Starset hit one billion streams worldwide and now they have already doubled that number, hitting two billion streams over several platforms. The largest number of streams comes from YouTube where they have 1.2 billion stream alone. They also have 334 million streams coming off of Spotify, Apple music adds another 64 million, Amazon music contributes 42 million, and Google Play music provides another 29 million to the list.
Starset and sci-fi go hand in hand and have had many successes in that area. They’ve published their own graphic novel (The Prox Transmissions) helped develop AR-integrated performances which can be seen below, and even their website, The Starset Society, is science based.
In May, Cutter and Kaytie had a chance to talk to Starset lead singer Dustin Bates while in the middle of one of his other interests, watching his stocks. The stock market is just one of many obsession’s for the reclusive singer. His main obsession though remains music and art. They talked to Bates about Starset’s third album, Divisions, and their latest single “Trials”.
If you want to help add to the band’s high stream numbers, check out the official music video for Starset’s latest single “Trials” which can be seen below.
