At the end of May, Metallica launched their “Some Kind Of Bracket” promotion, where fans got to vote on the band’s best song NCAA tournament style. The results and finally in and “Master Of Puppets” has be dubbed the top song from the band!
The contest started with 64 songs battling against each other over five rounds. Along the way, “Master Of Puppets” defeated “Dyers Eve,” “Atlas, Rise!,” “Ride The Lightning,” “Sad But True,” “Fade To Black,” and in the finals “One”, to take the top spot. Metallica posted the results on social media saying:
“The people have spoken and single song stands alone above the rest. Your champion is ~ drum roll please ~ “MASTER OF PUPPETS!”… no wonder that thing is in the Library of Congress! Thanks for playing along with us!”
Recently, drummer Lars Ulrich said that Metallica has been working on some new material and that there is a “very good chance” that the band will write a new album in quarantine.
