Oshkosh’s police chief says they already do many of the things President Trump is calling for in the executive order he signed this week.
Chief Dean Smith says they’re the only community in the state to have a nationally accredited police department.
The order calls for police departments to partner with social workers, and Smith says he’s looking forward to seeing what kind of funding will be available to do that. He says right now, that role falls on officers when they go to a call.
