A local company is making systems that check the temperatures of workers.
Faith Technologies in Menasha is using thermal-imaging technology to get results in less than one second.
The company’s Wade Leipold says Excellerate Manufacturing in Little Chute was looking for a way to screen workers for one of the symptoms of COVID-19. He hopes it will give employees at least some piece of mind.
Liepold says one of the machines can scan up to 16 people at once. The other system is set up as a kiosk, and it checks one person at a time.
They both use a facial recognition camera to identify each person’s head, and an infrared camera then does the temperature scan.
