Ever since the EAA announced the cancellation of AirVenture for this year, some frequent visitors have been posting on social media that they still plan to come to Oshkosh that week.
EAA Chair Jack Pelton says they’re well aware of that talk, and they’re urging people not to come. He says camping won’t be allowed on the EAA grounds, there won’t be any bathrooms, and the museum itself will be closed.
Pelton says people have the right to fly into Oshkosh because it’s a public airport. But he adds they’re going to have to find ways to prevent it from getting out of hand.
This is the first time there won’t be a fly-in, in Oshkosh, since 1970.
