The Pretty Reckless released “Death By Rock and Roll,” the title track from the forthcoming album earlier this week (listen below). On Thursday, she took the time to talk to Cutter and Kaytie about the new album.
Turns out, The Pretty Reckless enlisted some rock veterans for their upcoming album by recruiting Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil and Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron for their song “Only Love Can Save Me Now”. Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello also appears on the new album on a song called “And So It Went”.
Frontwoman Taylor Momsen also spoke about how the album got her through a really dark time in her life and genuinely saved her life:
“We had some tough times. We’ve had quite a few hits in the past few years and I went kinda down. Not to get too detailed here, but I went pretty down with the loss of so many friends, into depression, and it really took, not to sound cliche but it’s true… music saved my life again. It was writing and making this record that really pulled me out of that depression and this record is really a reflection of that. “
