Governor Evers is announcing a $50 million plan to provide direct payments to farmers.
They’ll have to apply for funding through the state Department of Revenue, and payments could start arriving next month.
Evers also wants to spend $15 million to fight hunger in the state. Some of the money would go to food banks and pantries, to buy products from the state’s agriculture industry.
