This week in 2002, Staind were on the chart with two Top 10 songs, including the number 1 song this week in 2002… “It’s Been Awhile.” The track was released in March of 2001 as the lead single from Staind’s third studio album Break the Cycle. “It’s Been Awhile” is one of the band’s most successful and perhaps their best known song. It reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October of 2001, and spent 20 weeks at the number 1 spot on the Billboard Rock charts.
