The number of home sales across the state was down almost seven percent last month.
That’s compared to April of 2019.
Economist David Clark of the Wisconsin Realtors Association says median prices went up by about 10 percent, to $214,000, because there are tight inventories of homes on the market.
He says they’re definitely seeing an impact from COVID-19, and it’s coming at a bad time, because typically they’re starting to get busy at this time of year.
The market was a little slower in the northeast region, with sales down 10 percent in April. The median price jumped 10 percent to $174,000.
