Governor Evers and Republican lawmakers could start negotiating a plan on how to move forward, as early as today.
Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroek believes they can reopen businesses safely. He says it’s important for them to be proactive and smart about finding ways to safely reopen.
Steineke says the “safer at home” order was about making sure hospitals weren’t overrun, and the state’s done that successfully.
Evers says the top priority has been to protect health and safety.
The governor says everyone can’t let the court’s ruling undo all the work that’s been done, and all the sacrifices people have made over the past few months. He’s urging people continue to stay “safer at home.”
