One of the state’s goals under the Badger Bounce Back plan is to run about 12,000 tests a day.
Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk says slowly but surely, they’ll get there. She says a few weeks ago, they were only running a couple thousand a day. Over the past week, they’ve received an average of 4,400 results every day.
Adjunct General Paul Knapp of the Wisconsin National Guard says their soldiers collected about 4,500 tests alone, on Monday.
Van Dijk says they’re working with health care providers to ramp up their testing, and concentrating on areas where there are outbreaks.
She says whenever there’s a flare up, they want to make sure they can test, contact trace, and quarantine, so it doesn’t spread further.
