It’s unlikely local spring high school sports teams will get “closure” for their canceled seasons.
The WIAA is granting teams a 30-day window this summer to schedule games or meets.
Oshkosh Superintendent Vickie Cartwright says the majority of schools in the area won’t participate. She feels too many students don’t have the opportunity to go through strength training and conditioning, and that could make them for susceptible to injuries.
Cartwright thinks many superintendents aren’t happy with the WIAA for deciding to allow the summer competitions without consulting anyone.
