The state is starting to send the federal government’s unemployment payments.
People get an additional $600 a week on top of their state benefits. The payments were included in a federal stimulus package. The state Department of Workforce Development says people don’t have to do anything if they’re already receiving state benefits. The federal money will be automatically added to their payments.
