The meatpacking plants account for a big chunk of the coronavirus cases in Brown County, but a county health official says they’re seeing the virus spread other ways.
The county now has the second-most cases in Wisconsin, and only Milwaukee County has more.
Claire Paprocki of the health department is urging people to follow the “safer at home” order, and limit their contacts. She says some people aren’t taking personal responsibility, and they’re putting others at risk.
Paprocki says one person can have a big impact by going to work, stopping at a grocery store a couple of times a week, and then going to a neighbor’s house for dinner.
