Governor Evers hopes protesters keep their distance from each other outside of the state Capitol tomorrow.
Organizers are opposed to the extension of the state’s “safer at home” order. The state wouldn’t give them a permit for the event, but they’re planning to show up anyway.
Evers says if people don’t follow the physical distancing guidelines, they could put others at risk. He says using the First Amendment to express yourself is quite sacred, but that shouldn’t prevent people from using common sense.
Evers doesn’t expect to see police carrying yardsticks at the event, to see if people are too close to each other.
