Earth Day is going to be a lot different this year for UW-Oshkosh students.
The university is putting together a virtual event, since the campus is closed and social distancing rules are in place.
Stephanie Speher of the sustainability institute says they’re going to have online panel discussions. One will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and feature some alumni that were involved in setting up the plans for the first one.
Speher says they’re also encouraging people to go outside and do a cleanup project by themselves. She wants them to share a picture of their work on the institute’s Facebook page.
