The Tavern League of Wisconsin wants bars and restaurants to be able to open on May 1st.
In a letter to Governor Evers and state lawmakers the League would agree to limited seating and social distancing guidelines.
Spokesman Scott Stenger thinks it can be done safely, and they can follow steps other businesses are taking.
Stenger estimates 20 percent of Tavern League members are completely shut down by the state’s “safer at home” order, while the rest are making a minimal amount by selling takeout food.
The state’s order is currently in place until May 26th.
