The head of the state Department of Health Services says more testing has to be available, before social distancing rules can be scaled back.
Secretary Andrea Palm says they also need additional contact tracing, so they can quickly isolate people if they could’ve been exposed to a positive case. She says that would reduce the number of people infected, protect health care workers and continue to save lives.
Palm believes they also need to increase the number of tests that can be processed every day. Right now, that figure is more than 7,600.
