The usual statewide tornado drill on the Thursday of Severe Weather Awareness Week didn’t happen this afternoon.
The National Weather Service called it off because of social distancing guidelines. First Alert Chief Meteorologist Steve Beylon says they’re holding a “virtual drill” instead.
Beylon says people should talk about a plan for severe weather or disasters. Many communities have been holding a second tornado drill at night to give families a chance to practice. That was cancelled too.
